Sissy is Home!

Our sweet Sissy the pittie puppy has found her Forever Home!  This tiny little treasure was brought to the Edison Shelter at only 4 weeks old, and we immediately took her into foster to make sure she stayed healthy and nourished while she grew.  Baby girl is now 3 times her former size, healthy as a horse, fully vetted, and on her way to her Forever Home!  Congratulations, Sissy, have a wonderful life!

Meet Sissy!

We are so happy to introduce Sissy, the lab/pittie mix puppy!  Sissy was brought to the Edison Animal Shelter at 4 weeks old by a person who found her wandering alone on a sidewalk.  She was far too young to be weened from her mother, so one of our volunteers took her immediately into foster care and made sure she got the proper care, nutrition, and frequent feeding that she needed.

Over the past several months, we have been working with Edison Township to identify the best way to operate the volunteer program that we have established with the help of all of you over these last 4 years.  Ultimately, the decision has been made that it would be best for Edison Township to take over the leadership role of the volunteer program that you have been a part of along with us at the shelter.  We are excited about these changes, and we welcome and support them.

We Saved the Chi Sisters-- Now We Need Your Help!

Last November, three elderly chihuahua sisters arrived at the shelter.  Someone had abandoned them and left them in a box behind a vet hospital.  These sweet dogs made some vet staff friends who took them in, fixed them up, and cared for them. They named the dogs Drew, Cameron (Cammy) and Lucy (Lulu) after “Charlie’s Angels,” because of their angelic personalities. Eventually, they were brought to the shelter.  All three girls had some serious medical concerns.  Lucy and Drew had very large hernias and one of Lucy’s back legs appeared to be broken or dislocated.
