At Sammy’s Hope we work closely with animal shelters to help place their adoptable pets into loving forever homes. Too often we see a dog or cat come into the shelter who was picked up as a stray, but is obviously someone’s beloved, well-cared for family pet. The majority of the time, these animals’ owners never come to the shelter to claim them.
In an effort to help people in our community know where to turn in the event their pets go missing, we have compiled the following list of Middlesex County towns and the animal shelters they partner with for animal control services:
| Middlesex County Animal Control Information |
Best Friends Animal Society has also compiled the following document to act as a checklist of actions to take immediately when a pet has turned up missing:
| How to Find Your Lost Pet |
We also strongly recommend asking your vet about microchipping your pet. Every animal picked up by animal control as a stray is scanned for a microchip– those who have a registered chip are reunited with their families immediately!
