UPDATE: Ranger is in his Forever Home!! Handsome Ranger needs a loving home and people to care for him! Ranger's former life was lived in a crate in the woods where he developed a terrible skin condition that caused him to lose most of his fur. A kind samaritan rescued Ranger from his situation but sadly could not afford the vet care required to get Ranger healthy. Once he came to the shelter, Sammy's Hope took Ranger to our wonderful friends at Raritan Animal Hospital where he has received a treatment protocol to determine what the problem is with his skin. He has improved a bit but still needs treatment and care.
We believe that Ranger is a 3-4 year old American Bulldog/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is a large boy who is extremely strong: our volunteers are working on some basic training with him, especially leash manners. Despite that, he is sweet and gentle and very patiently endures his medicated baths every couple of days. He loves to explore the world around him and spend time outside the kennel with all of the volunteers.
We would love for Ranger to find a family who loves him as much as we do. Ideally this family would be a foster or foster-to-adopt situation so that Sammy's Hope can continue to provide the medical care Ranger needs to get better. We feel his progress would greatly improve by living in a clean home environment with soft bedding and lots of love!
