Although every week at Sammy's Hope is exciting for a variety of reasons, this week was especially exciting in a way that we will remember always and will have a lasting impact on the lives of every animal in our care. Best Friends Animal Society visited Edison Animal Shelter for a shelter consult with Sammy's Hope to share their expertise on implementing enrichment programs for the animals while at the shelter and increasing adoptions. In addition, Best Friends provided informative workshops throughout the week both at the NJ Convention and Exposition Center and at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, for other rescues, shelters and anyone committed to bringing about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets.
Our sincere gratitude to Best Friends Animal Behavioral Consultant Sherry Woodard, No More Homeless Pets Network Specialists, Linda Gage and Lezlie Sage, and Sam Wike, Behavior Specialist.
Special thanks to Township of Edison Mayor Ricigliano for her warm welcome to the Township, Jay Elliot, Health Director, Township of Edison, for his commitment to the animal shelter and support of Sammy's Hope and the work we do. Last but certainly not least, a warm thank you to Joe Cascio, General Manager of the NJ Convention and Exposition Center for providing a comfortable, state-of-the-art facility with a top notch staff for the workshops.
Stay tuned for how the enrichments we implement make a difference!
