A few weeks ago, three elderly chihuahua sisters arrived at the shelter. Someone had abandoned them behind Raritan Veterinary Hospital. They made some vet staff friends at the hospital who took them in, fixed them up, cared for them, and named them Drew, Cammi and Lucy ("Lulu"). Eventually, though, they had to come to the shelter. All three girls had some serious medical concerns.
Earlier in the week, Nurse Naomi, our small dog foster extraordinaire, took our lovely ladies home with her so they could enjoy the comfort and love of a home setting. All three girls were thrilled to be there and LOVED her family and other dogs. However, after a couple of days, it because apparent that Miss Cammi was not feeling well.
On Wednesday, Cammi had emergency surgery and spent 4 days recovering in the vet's office. Her sisters missed her so much! Saturday morning she came home and it was such a joyful reunion!
