This week's blog is an important note from Dr. Joseph Chiosi of The Sayrebrook Veterinary Hospital
The time of an emergency with your pet is the worse time to be looking for a veterinarian. It is always best to already have an established relationship with a vet that you trust, which helps the vet to know you as an individual and knowing your tendencies-conservative or aggressive treatment decisions. It also helps make you familiar with your vet, which is especially important at a time of potential great emotional distress for both you and your animal. So the best thing is to know as much as you can about your vet's way of handling emergencies. Can you get them on the phone for advice, or do they prefer you go straight to an emergency clinic? It's always best to know in advance.
